As Storytelling and Partnerships Manager at Icarus Complex Magazine, I developed and led the editorial series Climate x Sport, exploring the relationship between sport and environmentalism.

Through conversations with athlete–environmentalists, I examined how sports such as surfing, climbing, skiing, and snowboarding shape our connection to land and seascapes. Each story weaves personal experience with broader systemic challenges, showing how sporting cultures deeply rooted in nature can foster environmental awareness and stewardship.

The series launches with Ocean Voices — featuring scientists, CEOs of ocean conservation organisations, professional surfers, and Indigenous leaders from small island nations to continental coastlines. Their stories share firsthand experiences of environmental change and the wisdom gained from life spent in and around the water.

Alongside developing the editorial vision, I also led the partnerships and marketing strategy, building collaborations between the featured athletes, environmental NGO’s like Surfrider Foundation International and Save the Waves Coalition, and Icarus Complex. These initiatives expanded the magazine’s network and contributed to a measurable increase (ongoing) in reach and engagement across social media.
